Another busy day in the parks. Today we had the opportunity to visit the Disney studios and enjoyed park rides as well as some shows... we had some time in the shops and we finished the day off by watching the spectacular illuminations... jam packed day but filled with fun and laughter!

FUN FUN FUN at The Funhouse softplay this morning! After break we welcomed our old friend Joe and his African Drums for a jam session. Ceramic painting and slime kept us busy throughout the day for our older pupils, while face painting, balloon modelling and tattoos got a big thumbs up from our younger pupils. If only every Wednesday could be like this!

What a super day we had today! It started off with a character breakfast where we met all our old favourites such as Minnie, Micky, Tigger and Piglet to name a few... we were so delighted to get some pictures with them! After our breakfast we headed into the park in our groups and enjoyed some of the rides... the sun was shining all day and the kids were in such high spirts! Some of the groups enjoyed the grand parade before watching the wonderful Buffalo Bill show.... such a jam packed day with lots more to do tomorrow!

Pokemon and popcorn was the order of the Day when some of our pupils headed off to the cinema this morning. Those who stayed in school enjoyed a Disney themed sensory music session and some Splat Messy Play in the assembly hall. Mickey even made an appearance there too! This afternoon we welcomed our old friend Kelly FitSteps for some boogie exercise – Can you guess what kind of music Kelly had for us to dance to? A Truly Terrific Tuesday!

What a brilliant start to our Disney adventure! We couldn’t be more proud of our pupils - they were brilliant on the whole journey to France, even though we had a lot of waiting to do! We had dinner in the hotel, a beautiful buffet, with a dip in the pool after! Looking forward to a great day tomorrow 🎢🎡☀

Climbing ‘Donard 4 Donard’

The sun shone and many devoted parents, friends and staff from Donard School gathered early on Saturday 6th April to climb the highest mountain in our wee country.
The climb was organised by one of our past pupils and Pride of Britain regional winner Nathan to raise money for The Disney Fund and Big Fun Week at the end of May. The sponsor money is still rolling in - we’ll let you know the grand total in due course.
Take a look at some of the many pictures taken that day – as you can imagine they all enjoyed the hard earned BBQ at the end of their epic climb! Well done and thank you to everyone involved.

Interschool Zumbathon

Given the success of the Annual Interschool Swimming Gala, the 5 schools in our area came together this year to arrange another joint initiative. This event was organised by Philip Oldham, Lisanally, and supported by the Sports Council NI. The pupils from the post-16 age group in the 5 schools came together and enjoyed a fun-filled morning. A colourful theme was encouraged and the pupils and staff really embraced it. They danced along to a range of tunes, including Baby Shark, Shotgun, Gangnam Style. It was an action packed 45 minutes, and something we hope will run as an annual event!

Everyone has been enjoying the dance workshops organised by Kelly McAleese? The younger pupils have been following a 'transport theme' whilst the senior pupils have been learning samba/salsa steps. The classes have allowed pupils to explore their topics in a practical way, bringing them to life.
